Breeding horses is, for us, a passion and a life project handed down from one generation to the next. Every foal born at Quinta do Pilar brings with it the same excitement and the same hope as the very first.
What matters most to us is breeding healthy, balanced and happy horses that learn to trust their rider. And, when the time comes, finding for each of them a rider worthy of that trust.

Clinic with Master Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg at Quinta do Pilar
From 16 to 18 October we welcomed Master Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg, former First Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, to Quinta do Pilar for a clinic with the family, the team and the stud's horses. It was an enormous pleasure to count on his support and wisdom. Thank you very much, Master Kottas!

Relincho do Pilar wins at the 5th leg of the Portugal Cup
Relincho do Pilar, ridden by Aarão Coelho, took 1st place on the second day of the 5th leg of the Portugal Dressage Cup at the Sociedade Hípica Portuguesa in Lisbon, scoring 72.5%. A result that confirms the steady progress of this young Lusitano stallion, who combines beauty, elastic paces and an exemplary temperament. Congratulations to Aarão and Relincho on their excellent work.

National Dressage runner-up title for Maria da Graça Abecasis and Delgado
Maria da Graça Abecasis won the national Dressage runner-up title with Delgado in the U25 category (2025/2026 season). A success celebrated by the whole family.
Pardal do Pilar approved as a Pure Bred Lusitano breeding stallion
Our stallion Pardal do Pilar has been approved and admitted to the Pure Bred Lusitano Studbook of breeding stock. Presented by Tiago Abecasis at the 3rd Lusitano Horse Show at the Sociedade Hípica Portuguesa in Lisbon, he scored 73 points, one of the best results of the event. He stood out with scores of 8 for head, neck, shoulder and withers, croup and overall conformation. By Dragão Figueiras out of our broodmare Literária do Pilar, Pardal is living proof of the stud's selection programme and a new promise for the future of our breeding.
